We regret to announce that development of the online version of "Descent: Journeys in the Dark" has ceased due to creative differences between Board Games Online and Fantasy Flight Games. While Descent will no longer be published by Board Games Online, development of the BattlePawn boardgame engine is still going strong, and it will be used to bring other boardgames online in the future.

We hope you'll want to join us in the forums, where our developers are always available to answer questions and discuss potential future game releases.

If you've tried to visit this website during the last two days, you might have encountered error messages or entirely different sites here instead. Don't worry, we haven't been the victims of domain theft or some kind of hacker attack.

On wednesday night, the computer hosting this site crashed, and battlepawn.com was hit very hard for a multitude of reasons. It took nearly two full days for the site to return to full functionality, but it should work now.

We've taken steps to make sure this doesn't happen again in the future. Stability on both the website and in the BattlePawn application is something we take very seriously. We don't want to end up in a situation where our customers are unable to use the software they've bought just because of something like this. Rest assured that in the future, there will be multiple fail-safes and backup systems on the server, keeping it running in all but the most disastrous of circumstances.

Please accept our most sincere apologies for the downtime. It won't happen again.

We've had some issues with automatic sending of emails for account activations these last few days. What this means is that if you've created a BattlePawn forum account recently, you never received an email about it and would not be able to activate it. While the issue has now been fixed, the people who tried to create an account before we fixed it will be unable to activate their accounts in the normal way.

If you're one of the people who experienced this, please let us know by sending us a message through the support page. Make sure you include your username. If you do this, we will manually activate your account for you.

We apologize for the inconvenience.

It's now possible to register on the website again. Steps have been taken to reduce the amount of spam on the forums. We will pay close attention to future developments and take action if necessary.

Please note that over 2500 users were deleted as a part of this process. It's entirely possible that legit users were deleted during this, and if so, we apologize. You are of course free to sign up again.

Update: Activation emails should be working again.

Due to a sudden and overwhelming amount of spam, especially of a pornographic nature, in our forums, we have decided to disable new registrations for the time being. We will bring registering back online again after easter.
